The large Chinese bitcoin-exchange BTCC announced the launch of ETC/BTC as its first trading partner. The new trading platform has got the name DAX. BTCC DAX will enable customers to exchange bitcoins directly for Ethereum Classic and vice-versa. The launch of the platform followed a survey that was initiated by BTCC’s CEO Bobby Lee in May. Back then Lee announced the company was planning to allow exchanges in a pure cryptocurrency-to-cryptocurrency trading partnership on the company’s official Twitter profile. Lee suggested the followers choosing the token would like to trade for bitcoin on BTCC.
In the first round of the vote, the followers were asked to choose 8 favorites from 16 crypto tokens suggested by the company. In the second round the users were choosing 4 tokens out of those 8 that were chosen earlier. Those top-4 became: DOGE (Dogecoin), STEEM (Steem), XMR (Monero) and ETC (Ethereum Classic). The winner was chosen in the final round held on 27 May. After 2 weeks of the vote and 3 voting rounds the followers chose ETC token (Ethereum Classic) – it received the votes of 47% participants (more than 89 thousand people). “We are proud to launch BTC/ETC as our first trading pair on BTCC DAX.
We received an overwhelming response to our poll — more than 190,000 Twitter users voted on it; we congratulate the ETC community for mobilizing to have ETC listed on BTCC”, commented Lee. BTCC DAX will start to accept customer deposits on Monday, June 26, 2017 and trading goes live on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, reads the official website of the exchange. The BTCC’s representatives claim that DAX will be available across different devices. The BTCC cryptocurrency exchange was founded in 2011 (back then it was called BTCChina). It is one of the largest and oldest bitcoin exchanges in the world. BTCC has headquarters in Shanghai.
